2016-2017 Registration Information
Welcome to CARMEL VALLEY MIDDLE SCHOOL. Registration for classes for the 2016-2017 school year has begun and we want to ensure that the enrollment process for students from a private school or who are new to the area will be a smooth one. Our Parent Information Nights are March 15th and March 16th at 6:00 PM in the PAC (you only need to attend one). A meeting for parents of students in special education will be held March 15th only at 5:30 in the Learning Commons.
Please CLICK HERE for the links to all of the required registration forms and the PowerPoint presentation.
Your registration will not be processed unless all required items are included.
One of your most important decisions for your child will be choosing his/her English and math courses. Our college prep English and math courses are very rigorous academic courses. If you are interested in Honors courses in math and/or English, please review the English, Integrated Math and Integrated Math Honors Course Profiles on the Counseling website http://cv.sduhsd.net/Counseling/Course-Profiles/index.html to help guide your decision. We have open access to English 7 Honors and Integrated Math A Honors courses for 7th graders and English 8 Honors and Math B Honors for 8th graders. Please make a careful and thoughtful decision based on your child’s abilities and dedication to studies.
7th grade students who are interested in Integrated Math B Honors must take the Integrated Math B Honors Readiness Test (IMRT). The online registration window opens on April 27th to sign up for the IMRT. 7th grade students are not allowed to enroll in Integrated Math B Honors unless they take and pass this additional test. You must reserve online for ONE date to take this test. This is your only opportunity to challenge into Integrated Math B Honors as a 7th grade student. We do not accept “tutoring” or retest in August.
The online registration window to sign up for the IMRT opens April 27th. CLICK HERE to sign up for the IMRT on April 27th. .
Physical Education – CVMS students in grades 7 and 8 are required to enroll in a physical education program. CVMS has an excellent program with energetic coaches that not only introduce many sports/activities to students, but also promotes a healthy and balanced life for middle school students. If your student is an exceptionally gifted, state or regionally ranked athlete who participates in a significant amount of physical activity outside of school, you can apply for our district's independent study physical education program (ISPE). There is an application and approval process for this, so please review the guidelines in detail on our district's website. The ISPE application deadline is Friday, August 12, 2016.
Registrar’s office - The Carmel Valley Middle School Registrar’s Office will be closed the month of July and will reopen August 3, 2016. If you have a question that is not answered by the information on our website, please email the Registrar at email@example.com
Orientation Day for Students is Wednesday, August 17, 2016 8:00 AM - 12:30 PM.
There will also be Parent Orientation meetings. Please try to attend.
